There is beauty in a simple, functional design. That seems to have been a guiding principle for Primus’ founder, Ron Thompson.

Mr. Thompson’s experience as a Medical Corpsman with the United States Navy, then as an electrical contractor, provided experience, skills and personal values that combine admirably into forming the Primus corporate personality.

In 1984 Mr. Thompson formed Phoenix Medical Company, an autoclave repair and maintenance company, providing service contracts to laboratories and medical facilities in the Omaha area. Recognizing the need for a simple reliable autoclave, he formed Primus Sterilizer Company in 1990. In 1995 Phoenix Medical was merged with Primus Sterilizer Company for the efficient expansion of the business.

In 1997 The Greater Omaha chamber of Commerce awarded their "Top 25 Omaha" award to Primus as one of Omaha's fastest growing businesses.

Primus Sterilizer is a privately held Corporation with its ASME code manufacturing, assembly and distribution facilities in Great Bend Kansas, GMP test and assembly facilities in Omaha, Nebraska and company headquarters in downtown Omaha, Nebraska.

The Primus Logo –
The cross is an internationally recognized symbol of sacrifice, love and caring. The four hearts integrated into the design denote the human response elicited by the cross, while the rings surrounding both heart and crosses represent the everlasting nature of love and a commitment of service to humanity.
